The Best Apple Watch Bands for Small Wrists
Three years ago I bought my husband a Series 1 38mm Apple watch for Christmas. Turns out, after years of not wearing a watch, having something on his wrist drove him bonkers. So I decided that the gift was actually for me! I rescued the watch from his desk drawer, set it up, and loved it! No more having to dig through my purse to find my phone to check a text or see who was calling. No more fishing out a credit card to pay for groceries at Trader Joe's, thanks to Apple Pay. Reminders to breathe (yep, I need those!). I could go on and on about the things I love about my Apple Watch. The only drawback was that the sports band that came with the watch was waaaaay to big for my small wrist. I'm petite (5'3") and my wrist is tiny, only 5.25" around. And so I began my search for the perfect, comfortable Apple Watch band for small wrists.
But I also wanted something for workouts. I knew the sports band would be too bulky, so next I tried the woven nylon bands. Hallelujah! In fact, in the band descriptions the woven nylon bands are clearly the best Apple Watch bands for petite wrists, fitting 125–195mm wrists, which is 5mm smaller than any of their other watch bands. So, I shelled out the $49 plus tax and left the store with a band I loved.
Unfortunately, woven nylon bands (even the $49 ones) don't last forever. They get stretched out and stained. And I didn't want to spend that amount again if I could find a cheaper version that got the job done just as well. And I did! After a few Amazon.com orders and returns, I found an offbrand band that is every bit as good as the Apple band and is the perfect fit, both for my small wrist and my small pocketbook! See if you can tell the difference:
I loved the band so much that I bought another in a different color to switch out depending on my mood. One is almost identical to the original Apple band I purchased. The other is a fun blue check, perfect for summer and the 4th of July. I've been wearing these for a while and can say with certainty that they hold up every bit as well as the original Apple Watch band.
If you have an Apple Watch and have found a great band for small wrists, I'd love to know! Please drop a note in the comments below.
